Fri 18th March - bus trip to Earsham Queens Head for a pub games evening against Norwich and Norfolk CAMRA - bus departs 7pm*
Fri 1st April bus trip to Ridley's brewery departing from Ipswich at 6.30pm*
Tue 12th April - branch meeting - Ipswich Lord Nelson - start 8pm
Tue 17th May - branch meeting - Combs Ford Gladstone Arms - start 8pm
Tue 14th June - branch meeting - Woodbridge Cherrytree - start 8pm
Thu 30th June - Sun 3rd July - Stowmarket beer festival - bus on Fri night departing Ipswich at 7pm*
Tue 12th July - branch meeting - Felixstowe Half Moon - start 8pm

* buses from Ipswich depart Tower Ramparts (close to Enquiry office) at time stated

Dates and venues have now been arranged for the local CAMRA meetings to arrange the Ipswich beer festival for 2005 - they are:

Tue 5th April - beer fest. mtg. - Ipswich Lions Head - start 8pm
Tue 3rd May - beer fest. mtg. - Ipswich Dove - start 8pm
Tue 7th June - beer fest. mtg. - Ipswich Brewery Tap - start 8pm
Tue 5th July - beer fest. mtg. - Ipswich Milestone - start 8pm

festival is from from the 21st to 24th September 2005

Suffolk Pub of the month for January 2005 - Wenham Queens Head - Close to Capel St Mary, this homely Free house of Victorian origins is well worth finding. Mark and Patsy have been the owners here for a number of years. They are probably best known for the wide range of Indian cuisine which is always available, however in recent times they have also offered a wide range of more traditional English food too. Mark currently offers GK IPA, Abbot and Adnams Bitter on handpump but may also offer other ales on occasions.

Ipswich Beer Festival September 2005

The venue for this years Ipswich Beer Festival has now been confirmed as the Corn Exchange in Kings Street - the branch are very pleased to be returning to the venue for the 23rd consecutive event. The festival will be held from Wednesday 21st September and Saturday 24th September.

Initially, some doubts had arrisen about the availability of the Corn Exchange due to a threat of closure by the local council (as part of their Arts and Entertainment strategy review last year) followed by possibilities that new building works may severely restrict access to the building in 2005. With these issues now resolved the event promises to be as good as it always has been!

Ipswich Dove

Alterations are currently underway here since approval has now been given for the construction of a new "tap room". the pub is expected to remain closed on Sundays to allow this work to continue for the forseeable future.
